Hurrah! By some magic (and money) my car is legal for another year. Here's hoping it goes that long!

The carcarcar has failed its MOT. This is not entirely unsurprising but it has made more more unhappy than I expected. Maybe something to do with timing... I can't really afford a new car until we've got the wedding budget sussed - something that's unlikely to happen for a while (and even then I suspect the conclusion may be that I can't afford it as all the car money will suddenly have vanished).

*grrrr*

Friday Fill-In

This week's Friday Fill In:

1. Some unnecessary washing-up was (probably) my last random act of kindness.

2. Another place to drive to!

3. Be prepared before you cry (tissues at the ready!) when engaging in matters of the heart.

4. Coffee, tea or something else entirely.

5. We each drive our separate paths.

6. Our occasional clashes reminds me that there is always more effort to be put in but that it isn't hard really.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to driving home, tomorrow my plans include driving to ASDA and, hopefully round some roundabouts and Sunday, I want to drive to Silver Sapling and, perhaps round some roundabouts!

Under The Bonnet

I have my mock practical driving test today but have just remembered that we've never done the bonnet-based 'show me/tell me' questions as it's always raining in my lessons. Fear not, YouTube knows the answers :)

Passed and Stuff

Passed both bits of my theory test today and then went to Toni & Guy and got the haircut I've been thinking about for a while :)

Bought some makeup to play with too but haven't done much with it yet.

Hazard Perception

My driving theory test is tomorrow and whilst I'm relatively happy with the questions the hazard perception is a bit more wobbly. No matter how hard I try though I can't seem to find many practice videos of use on the internet. This downloadable demo (exe file) has one good clip on it and I've done the one full set of 14 clips that BSM sell. It's just a bit irritating that there are so few clips when once you've done them once there's a lot less value in doing the same clips again. Ah well - hopefully it'll be enough :)

Women's Bus

Caught the Women's Bus home for the first time today. Was about the only good thing that happened after Hobnob went away :(

I couldn't seem to get tonight's breakdown to work at all. I've done two reels at stupidly slow speed and I'll have to ask Chris where the rollers go for the middle platter tomorrow. *sigh*

My driving lesson was OK though, I think I'm happy with doing the whole turn-in-the-road thing slowly so hopefully I'll pick up some speed over the next few lessons. We also did a "controlled stop" (or seven).

Back in the World!

Back from our holiday in sunny Stoke :) Been on the canal with Hobnob and his parents and had rather excellent weather. We saw Lizi today on our way home too which was lovely. I had some coursework due in today so I hastily finished it off on the train and submitted it when we got back. I also managed to pay for my driving lessons ~£450 :( but then didn't have one because my instructor never showed up. Oh well, made the evening longer.
